Oak Creek Canyon north of Sedona, Arizona is magical. During my many hikes along the creek I've painted "en plain air" and taken a myriad of photos that I frequently use for painting reference. For this photo I was in a potentially precarious position way above the creek - but I was careful! For the painting On Oak Creek I had to really zoom in on the photo to see the part I wanted to paint. I hope you can feel the "bird's eye view I had.
